OF THE LIMITED EDITION SCULPTURE OF SEVE BALLESTEROS HANDS
AT SEVE’S HOUSE IN IRELAND
After the opening ceremony of the 5th Seve
Trophy, Seve unveiled the limited edition bronze sculpture
of his hands at his house at THE HERITAGE GOLF & SPA RESORT
in Ireland. Also in attendance at the presentation were the
young Spanish entrepreneur Miguel Alonso and Tom Keane and
his wife Angela. The Keane family are the owners of THE HERITAGE
GOLF & SPA RESORT, the main sponsor of the SEVE TROPHY
2007.
At the event, Miguel talked about the important
role Seve has played in Spain and Europe, not only as the
greatest golf player of the continent but also in his capacity
as an ambassador of golf. Miguel said: “It is thanks
to Seve that my family and I play golf today. When he told
me about his retirement from competitive golf, I looked for
a way to give him back the great moments he has given all
of us during his career. So I thought a good tribute to pay
him would be the creation of this limited edition sculpture
we are unveiling today. I believe many of us, as golf players,
have thought at some point; I WISH I HAD SEVE’S HANDS!.
And now we can have them at home.”
At the end of the presentation, Seve
Ballesteros offered Tom Keane and his wife Angela the sculpture
of his hands as a token of his gratitude for all the effort
this family has done to bring the Seve Trophy 2007 to this
magnificent place.
